Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities Early Intervention office is located at 8919 U.S Hwy 50, Hillsboro Ohio. Our program aims to find the right support systems and therapies that enable those with developmental challenges the opportunity to obtain all they need and want in life. Our services enable them to fully engage in all spheres of community life!

Research shows that children learn best with the people, places and things they are most familiar with. We believe YOU are the expert on your child and are their best teacher! Our team can help you support your child's development through natural learning opportunities, occurring during everyday activities and routines. Early Intervention team serves local families with infants and toddlers ages 0-3 years, who have a delay, disability or condition that is likely to result in a development delay.

General information

Early Intervention includes service and support to infants and toddlers between the age of birth and three, who have a developmental delay or disability, and their families. Early intervention services are identified for each child and family through development of an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP). Early intervention services are provided in the family home and other community settings. The Highland County Board of Developmental Disabilities provides early intervention services through early intervention specialists who are certified by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

Eligible Infants and toddlers under the age of three will have access to a Service Coordinator and Primary Service Provider with an Individualized Family Service Plan, to include assistance with transition beyond age 3, if desired.
