God called the leaders and members of New Waves United Church of Christ to work that has now met its conclusion. We have lived our faith by creating housing that is affordable through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity. When we began, few local churches felt like safe places for our LGBTQ+ community members. We brought attention to it and now there are several safe options, including our partner Mosaic Church. Our road was not easy, but each step of the way we prayed and looked for God's guidance which brought so many supportive community people into our work. We all feel incredibly blessed to know that we played some small part in making the lives of so many people, not necessarily connected with New Waves, better for our efforts.

Matthew 7:24: "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice
is like a wise man who built his house on the rock."

Please join us, along with our founding Pastor Jody Betten, for our final service on Saturday, October 24th, 1-2:30pm at the New Waves Community House. There will be a time for anyone wanting to tell their story to share it with us. It will warm our hearts to hear from you.

This will be our final community dinner. Next Sunday, September 20th. Please join us and celebrate the time we've spent together over the last few years!

Please join us for our free community dinner this Sunday from 5:00pm-7:00pm. This month by request we will be hosting an outdoor style picnic potluck. You are welcome to bring your favorite picnic side dish to showcase, although you are certainly not required to bring ANYTHING AT ALL!! We are providing sandwich fixings, macaroni salad, and chips as well as an assortment of beverages!

Come out this Sunday, July 19th for our free community dinner. This month we will be having a BBQ! Join us any time between 5:00pm and 7:00pm for good food and great conversation with wonderful people.

Unfortunately, as we are expecting some terrible weather this Sunday(5-8" of snow) the day of our free dinner, we will be moving the date of the event to Sunday, April 12th. If people could PLEASE respond with going or not going instead of "interested", that would be phenomenal, as it would help me decide how much food to buy and prepare and would cut down on food cost and waste. Please mark your calendars as to the change, we hope to see you there on April 12th!!
