A Call to the Bar is a nonprofit organization and web site that seeks to enlist the support of lawyers and the legal community in calling for immediate government action on climate change. Government is moving too slowly on the critically important subject of harm from climate change. Unless strong action is taken soon to reduce and eliminate greenhouse gas emissions, it will be too late to preven

t further and likely irreparable harm. There are strong steps we can take now. Leading economists regardless of political ideology agree that a carbon pricing policy—such as a carbon fee or cap and trade program—would lead to a substantial reduction in greenhouse gas emissions without causing harm to the economy. We need lawyers and good citizens everywhere to become advocates on the subject of taking action to address climate change.
