2026 Penlee Sar "FLy By For Life", an Airplane/Helicopter Show benefiting Relay For Life

From 29 March to 4 April, Penlee Search & Rescue is putting on an Airplane & Helicopter Show (much like a car/truck show) at Angels Moonberry with sponsorship from Angels Airports & Marinas, Shana Aircrafts, Abi Krokus of Oniakaloha Airfield, and JR Designs. Setup will be the 22nd until midnight SLT on the 28th of March.

There will be aircraft and helicopters from many different individuals by various creators on display, both on the apron in front of the hangars, as well as on top of two of them. Out on the apron, there are spots for 10 Large aircraft (wingspan no wider than 25m), 12 Medium aircraft (wingspan no wider than 20m), and 14 small aircraft (wingspan no wider than 15m). IN the hangars we have spots for four (and only four) Extra-Large Aircraft with a wingspan greater than 25m, and on top, spots for 16 Helicopters.

These individuals are competing for one of three prizes. First Place gets a free aircraft of their choice from Shana Aircrafts, Second Place gets 2 weeks free rental from Angels Airports & Marinas, and Third Place gets a Hangar by JR Designs. However, in the end...everyone is a winner, as all the money donated goes directly to Relay For Life to help fight and put an end to Cancer.

Entry Fee is $100/person, and payable via an ACS Vendor setup in front of the far left hangar. Voting will be done by way of donating to the individual kiosks by each person's setup (March 29 - April 4). EACH person is allowed one, and ONLY one aircraft or helicopter. IF you have one out, you are not permitted to display one for someone else.

Penlee Search & Rescue will have games, and food. In addition, there will be a landing contest, with each person getting 3 tries.

Penlee Search and Rescue - SL has this cute Plushie version of the Mersey Class Lifeboat (used by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in RL) up for sale (sorry but the basin is not included) to benefit Relay For Life.

It's L$250/ea and 100% goes to the American Cancer Society. They raised L$210K (a little over US$856) last season, and are hoping to beat that this year, and could use your support.

Their founder, Kiwa Tangaroa is not only a member of the RNLI, but is also fighting his own battles with multiple forms of Cancer himself. Penlee SAR was founded not just to teach water & boating safety in-world, but also in memory & honor of the 8 brave individuals (all of whom are volunteers) from Penlee Station who perished in the line of duty on 19 December, 1981 attempting to rescue the individuals in distress on the MV Union Star.

We've had people over time message the page, asking about patches.

Being how Liberty Fire Department is an ONLINE Fire Department in Second Life, and doesn't "physically" exist, we are unable to offer patches.
