Thank you, Hawthorne, for Helping the Hawthorne BEE 🐝Defeat Litter at the 8 Acre Wiids and surrounding cubs/pool complex area!!

We picked up 14 bags of garbage, 2 pieces of metal - basketball hoop and part of a bicycle; safety cone, wooden board, broken rake, and a flatten parade can!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be postponing Taste of Hawthorne, most likely to the Spring! Everyone who bought tickets online have been automatically refunded. If you have purchased tickets from Manny at Diamond Liquors, you will receive a refund. We will also be contacting all sponsors to give them the option of keeping their sponsorship for next year or getting a refund. We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused anyone.

The Hawthorne Rotary Club will present the fundraiser “Taste of Hawthorne” at Macaluso’s on 55 Fourth Avenue in Hawthorne on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for Taste of Hawthorne now. GET A DISCOUNT on tickets when you buy them online! Tickets are $55.20 online (includes taxes and fees) and $60 in person. Tickets will be sold online this year (click FIND Tickets on this event page)! A limited amount of printed tickets will still be available in person at Diamond Wine and Liquors. Along with the Hawthorne Environmental Commission, Hawthorne Green Team, Borough of Hawthorne, we are sponsoring a Garbage and Litter Clean-Up Campaign, entitled: “Help the Hawthorne Bee Defeat Litter!”

Borough of Hawthorne will be distributing clean-up equipment, free of charge, to the residents who come to the 8 Acre Woods at Maitland Avenue on Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Each person will receive a set of gloves, two (2) plastic bags, and for the first 20 residents, a free grabber to pick up garbage without the need to bend down.

Girl Scout Troop #96005 will also be participating in our Garbage and Litter Clean-Up Campaign.
