We’re excited to announce the finalists in the Inspired By Their Stories Award, a new award created to recognize nonprofit organizations whose work is changing lives and restoring dignity for society’s most vulnerable.
We'd like to thank the hundreds of nonprofits who shared their stories with us. After much deliberation, we’re proud to present one of the five finalists in the Education category, Nicaraguan Education Resource Center, or CREA, working in Nicaragua.
CREA is a community-based education organization in Nicaragua that began as a small lending library and has since grown into a network of learning centers and outreach programs. Today, it supports children and youth in underserved communities by strengthening literacy, academic skills, and access to educational opportunities—helping students progress from early reading experiences all the way to higher education.
Each day this week, we’ll be revealing our finalists in one of our four categories:
• Care for Others
• Education
• Hunger & Thirst
• Shelter
From the finalists in each category, one organization will be selected as the category winner. Among the four category winners, one overall recipient will be named the Inspired By Their Stories Award Winner, receiving a $25,000 charitable donation. The remaining three category winners will each receive a $5,000 donation.
