From a simple wagon wheel in 1905 to the internationally recognized symbol we know today, the Rotary wheel reflects more than a century of service, leadership, and fellowship. While the design has evolved, Rotary's mission to put Service Above Self into action continues to move our communities and our world forward.

Each version reflects a different chapter in our organization's history, growth, and worldwide reach. Though the design has been refined over time, the spirit of Rotary continues to be the driving force behind everything Rotary does.

This is why our club does what it does. For this camp (Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck) and the kids with special needs we serve. If you could see the smiles of these kids for yourself, you would want to be a part of it too.

Have you ever noticed the Peace Pole at Kaler's Pond Park in Center Moriches? We installed it in 2024. So, what is a Peace Pole?

A Peace Pole is an internationally recognized symbol of peace. Each pole carries the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in multiple languages, representing the shared hope for peace among people of all cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs. Peace Poles can be found in communities around the world, serving as quiet reminders of unity, understanding, and goodwill.

The Peace Pole at Kaler's Pond Park stands as an invitation to pause for a moment, reflect, and remember that peace begins with each of us. It is a simple yet powerful symbol of our common humanity and our desire for a better world.

The next time you visit Kaler's Pond Park, take a moment to stop by the Peace Pole. Read its message. Enjoy the beauty of the park. Reflect on what peace means to you, your family, our community, and the world. Let us know what you think.

May Peace Prevail on Earth.

Rotary started with the vision of one man: Paul Harris. A Chicago attorney who formed the Rotary Club of Chicago on 23 February 1905, so professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships.

This commitment endures today through an organization that remains truly international. Only 16 years after being founded, Rotary had clubs on six continents. Today, Rotary consists of over 1.4 million members, people who span the globe, working to solve some of our world’s most challenging problems.
