We couldn’t be more proud!
Hey We Rockers! We are so excited to announce our newest owners! Help us welcome Tracey and Kathryn and WRTS - Hickory to the team.
Tracey and Kathryn came to WRTS as colleagues in a North Carolina public school system and friends with a dream to open a center for individuals with autism and their families. "We were so excited when we discovered We Rock the Spectrum, and we want to help meet the needs of our community by developing a place to teach and support life and social skills while giving kids and families a place to create lifelong friendships."
Tracey is the mother of four children ages 9, 17, 20, & 22. She is a National Board-certified teacher with 22 years of experience teaching autism and related conditions students. Her teaching career began in general education, but after working with her first student with autism, she found her calling and never looked back. Currently, she serves as an Autism and Behavior Specialist for a public school district and a BCBA for a private ABA company in North Carolina. "I am excited about this latest adventure and am looking forward to serving my community by providing opportunities for individuals with disabilities and their families."
Kathryn is the mother of two children, ages 11 and 15. An educator for 20 years, Kathryn has been an active member of the Hickory community since moving here in 1998 from Ontario, Canada. Her son was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4, which started her on a journey to find information, services, and support for him and other children with autism.
Her quest led her to become an EC teacher, where she taught students with autism and other different abilities. She is very excited about opening a WRTS in Hickory and believes it will be the meeting ground for families and children of all abilities, cultures, and backgrounds. "I'm very excited about this opportunity not only for my son Liam but for all of the individuals who will come through our doors. WRTS Hickory will transform our community into one that embodies inclusion for children and families from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and abilities."
Help us in giving them a We Rock Welcome!🤟🏼😁
