This summer, I'm going to South Africa with my dad, grandma and grandpa to visit my grandpa's family. ny have helped the women in the village set up small business and curio stands. They've also raised money that went toward building a kitchen, a jungle gym and donations of shoes, sports equipment, educational supplies—whatever was needed at the time. I asked Africa Granny if I could help raise money this year and visit the kids in the village. She spoke with HPCCC and found out where my donations would help the most. So I'm raising money this summer to help the Schaumburg (no relation to Schaumburg, Illinois) Combined School, which goes from preschool through final year of high school. The money we raise will benefit the preschool kids and be used to purchase plastic cups, plates, cutlery, small mattresses for nap time, as well as a few soccer balls and netballs (an African sport).
