No one can hear their voices
When the state-led war on the Syrian people began in 2011 many Syrian children were not yet born. They emerged afterward into a life of strife and bloodshed, a cruel “normalcy” no child should know. Today they play in rubble-strewn streets lined with broken and abandoned buildings and they know by heart the drones of the war planes. Day and night they live in fear of the time the air raids will come. They have seen neighbours and playmates, and family members killed in mere seconds. Many spend their days hungry and cold. They have learned from their parents there is no point in asking Why? They know all too well there is no one listening.
Voices for the Children of Syria is a page dedicated to spreading awareness of the lives of Syrian children, the ones who keep playing in between the terrorist attacks, and those whose play is stopped because of them. Through education and awareness, the global world can give these children a chance at life, and they can give them a chance to be heard. We can be their voices.
