Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.-Pacific Region The Pacific Region was first identified as the Western Region in 1933. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. The worst and longest economic recession to hit the U.S.

was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. The Klan was very active during this period and the Harlem Renaissance was acknowledged as the first important movement of Black artists and writers in the U.S. This same year the Volstead Act became effective heralding the start of Prohibition and Tennessee delivered the crucial 36th ratification for the final adoption of the 19

th amendment giving women the right to vote. would define the end of the decade-The Great Depression. It was within this environment that five coeds envisioned a sorority which would directly affect positive change, chart a course of action for the 1920s and beyond, raise consciousness of their people, encourage the highest standards of scholastic achievement, and foster a greater sense of unity among its members. These women believed that sorority elitism and socializing overshadowed the real mission for progressive organizations and failed to address fully the societal mores, ills, prejudices, and poverty affecting humanity in general and the black community in particular. With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Soror Tina Webber.

Soror Webber became a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated in Spring 1995 through the Alpha Iota chapter at Fresno State. She later continued her legacy of service as a charter member of Tau Sigma Zeta chapter in Fresno and has been an invaluable and dedicated member of Omega Kappa Zeta chapter.

Soror Webber brought style, grace, and confidence wherever she went. She was always bringing joy, laughter, and vibrant energy to every gathering. Her spirit lit up every room and her presence will be deeply missed.

Soror Webber’s commitment to sisterhood, service, and community left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her. Her presence, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to Zeta will forever be cherished.

We ask that you keep her family, friends, and Sorors in your prayers during this difficult time.

Rest well Soror. Your legacy of service, sisterhood, and style will live on. 💙

Sip Your Way to Wellness: A Few Benefits of Green Tea

Green tea has earned its reputation as one of the world’s favorite beverages—second only to black tea. Beyond its soothing aroma and delicate flavor, green tea is packed with powerful compounds that make it a true health elixir. If you’re looking for a simple way to boost your well-being, this ancient drink might be your answer.

Let’s dive into the two of many benefits of green tea and why you should make it a daily ritual.

1. Supports Heart Health:
Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, but green tea can help protect your cardiovascular system. Studies suggest that green tea may lower LDL cholesterol (the “bad” cholesterol) and improve overall blood lipid profiles. This, in turn, reduces the risk of stroke and heart disease.

Why it works: The catechins in green tea improve blood vessel function and reduce plaque buildup, keeping your heart strong and healthy.

2. Boosts Brain Function:
Need a mental pick-me-up? Green tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid that promotes relaxation without drowsiness. When combined with caffeine (naturally present in green tea), L-theanine enhances focus, alertness, and cognitive performance. This dynamic duo can help you stay sharp during work or study sessions.

Bonus: Some research suggests that regular green tea consumption may lower the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

How to Enjoy Green Tea:
Choose quality: Opt for loose-leaf or high-grade tea for the best flavor and health benefits.
Experiment: Try matcha for a concentrated dose of antioxidants or add a splash of lemon for extra vitamin C.
Stay consistent: Aim for 2–3 cups a day to reap the full benefits.

Final Sip:
Green tea isn’t just a beverage—it’s a lifestyle choice that supports your body and mind. With its anti-inflammatory properties, heart-protective effects, and brain-boosting benefits, this humble drink deserves a spot in your daily routine. So grab your favorite mug, steep some green tea, and sip your way to better health!
