Join our Newsletter: https://www.noticeability.org/newsletter/ Inspired by the neuroscientific discoveries presented in 'The Dyslexic Advantage: Unlocking the Hidden Potential of the Dyslexic Brain' (Eide, Fernette F. and Brock L., New York: Penguin Group, 2012. Print), NoticeAbility’s curricula provides authentic inquiry experiences in vocational subject matters that cater to the neurological str
engths of dyslexic students: entrepreneurship, engineering, architecture and the arts. NoticeAbility utilizes the multiple-modalities available through e-learning (video instruction, graphical aids and audio presentations) and combines them with federal ‘Plain Language’ guidelines and universal design learning methodology (UDL). The result is a fully accessible, strength based curricula that embraces dyslexic students in ways that traditional text-based teaching cannot. Blended delivery (e-learning with facilitated, in-person guidance) enables NoticeAbility to facilitate student development along two essential dimensions. First, interpersonal collaboration and team-building exercises foster social-emotional proficiency and, thus, the ability to make good decisions, manage emotions, self-advocate and build successful relationships. Second, NoticeAbility’s use of executive functioning methodology enables its students to build upon their neurologically based skills, prioritize scholastic demands, and, in general, increase their chance of academic success.
