THE RESPONSE starts here. 🌱

A huge thank you to all of our incredible Engagement Table Partners for joining us tonight and for taking the time to share the work they are doing in our community every day.

We’re excited to give you the opportunity to meet these amazing organizations, learn what they’re doing, and explore ways you might get involved. Tonight is a chance to ask yourself:

How common is the common good?
Am I being a faithful citizen?
Is there more I can do?

Maybe one of these organizations offers an opportunity, ministry, resource, or way to serve that speaks to you. Come find out!

We’re grateful to every organization helping us move from CALL → NEED → RESPONSE and putting faith into action. ❤️

See you tonight!

WHY THE COMMON GOOD?
Because our faith calls us to look beyond ourselves.
The common good isn’t about everyone agreeing. It’s about recognizing that our lives are connected — and asking what we can do to build a community where every person has the opportunity to flourish.
What does that look like when we talk about human dignity, immigration, care for creation, participation, and our responsibilities as faithful citizens?
And perhaps most importantly: What is our response?

Join us for How Common is the Common Good? Rights and Responsibilities of Faithful Citizens with Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. and Denise Lieberman, followed by local engagement opportunities where you can learn, connect, pray, and discover ways to put faith into action.
This is more than a conversation about a Catholic Social Teaching principle. It’s an invitation to ask:
What does the common good require of us — and what will we do about it?

Where does the Common Good fit?
Everywhere.

As we explore the 7 Themes of Catholic Social Teaching, the Common Good connects them all by asking a fundamental question:

What is necessary for all people—and all communities—to flourish?

The common good reminds us that our faith calls us to look beyond ourselves. The dignity of every person, the well-being of families, the rights of workers, care for creation, solidarity with our neighbors, and the pursuit of justice are all connected to the conditions that allow people and communities to thrive.

That’s why we chose “How Common is the Common Good? Rights & Responsibilities of Faithful Citizens” for our next Planting Seeds event.

In a time when we can feel increasingly divided, we want to pause and consider what we owe one another—and what responsibilities come with the rights we hold as citizens. What does it mean to form our consciences, participate in our communities, advocate for justice, and work toward a society where everyone has the opportunity to flourish?

The Common Good isn't one piece of Catholic Social Teaching. It is the thread that connects the whole picture.

Join us October 7 at St. Louis University High School for an evening of reflection, conversation, and opportunities for action.
