Pittsburgh CAT is the adoption arm of Homeless Cat Management Team. This group started as an informal page dedicated to helping friendly stray cats and kittens found by HCMT volunteers doing T

rap-Neuter-Return. Volunteers spend countless hours helping to save adoptable cats from the streets of Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. We do not have a shelter so we rely on people to open up a space in their homes to foster these cats while they wait for their forever homes. This page was formed to help facilitate adoptions for the cats in foster care. All of our cats and kittens will go to their forever homes spayed/neutered, given age appropriate shots, treated for fleas, ear mites and worms, microchipped and tested for FeLV/FIV. Donations can be made via VENMO: or PAYPAL: [email protected]

We generally do not take owner surrendered animals. We focus on the cats that the shelters will not help.

Meet 2-year old Blanche! This friendly, playful, snuggly girl was found huddled on a porch when the temperatures were bitterly cold. When she was rescued, she had a badly broken leg. Sadly, it had to be amputated due to amount of damage to the leg.

Having only 3 legs doesn’t stop her from getting around! She is full of energy, gets the zoomies, and runs around chasing spring toys. She can jump up on the cat tree and has no problem with the stairs as long as they are carpeted. Her favorite toy is the feather wand, and she loves kick sticks.

In addition to being playful, Blanche is an extremely cuddly, social girl! She loves to curl up on the couch with you for pets and belly rub and enjoys it when you carry her around like a baby – she’ll make air biscuits the whole time! And if you’re not cuddling her, she will follow you around just to be near you.

Blanche needs to be the only pet in the home. She does not like other cats and likely would not like dogs. She is outgoing and sweet, though, and would do well with gentle kids.

She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. If you are looking for the cuddliest cat in the world, you have found her! Apply for Blanche today.

Note: All of our cats are in foster homes in the Pittsburgh area, so the first step in adopting from us is to fill out an application. Check out the comments for a link!

Meet Alice! Alice is a petite 3-month-old sweetheart with a heart full of love. This adorable little girl is looking for a forever family to call her own.

Alice's story began when she and her brother, Yogi, were found orphaned at just 2 weeks old. Because they were so tiny, their foster mom bottle-fed them every few hours until they were old enough to eat on their own. As a bottle baby, Alice has grown into an incredibly affectionate kitten who loves being close to her people. She enjoys being held, cuddled, and soaking up all the love and attention you can give.

Like any kitten, Alice loves to play! She has a blast chasing springs, fuzzy mice, and racing through the crinkle tube. She also enjoys climbing her cat tree, watching birds through the window, and romping around with her brother Yogi.

Alice gets along wonderfully with other cats and would love to be adopted with Yogi or into a home with another playful feline companion. If she's your one and only kitty, she’ll need plenty of love, attention, and interactive playtime. She does well with gentle, respectful children and, although she hasn't met any dogs yet, she should adjust well to a calm, cat-friendly pup with slow, patient introductions.

Alice is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on all her vaccinations. She's healthy, happy, and ready to find the family she's been waiting for.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who will fill your home with purrs, cuddles, and endless entertainment, Alice is your girl. She can't wait to meet her forever person—and whoever adopts her will be incredibly lucky to have such a loving little friend.

Hey there! I'm Yogi-Boo Boo! I'm a handsome 3-month-old little black panther searching for my forever family. My journey started a little differently than most. My sister, Alice, and I were found outside all alone when we were only about 2 weeks old. Because we were so tiny, my foster mom bottle-fed us every couple of hours until we were strong enough to eat on our own.

Being a bottle baby means I'm extra attached to my people. I absolutely love attention and want to be wherever my humans are. If you're looking for a cuddle buddy, I'm your guy! I love being held, snuggled, and showered with affection.

When I'm not cuddling, I'm busy playing! My favorite toys are springs, crinkle tubes, and jingle balls, and I can spend hours chasing them around. I also love running and wrestling with my sister Alice.

I'm a friendly, social kitten who enjoys the company of other cats. I'd love to be adopted with my sister Alice, or into a home with another playful feline friend. If I'm your one and only kitty, I'll just need lots of love, attention, and playtime to keep me happy. Gentle, respectful children are great, and although I've never met a dog, I should do well with slow, patient introductions.

I'm neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My foster mom tells me my forever home will be filled with love, cuddles, and plenty of attention—and I can't wait to find it.

Could that special home be yours? I promise to fill your days with purrs, playtime, and unconditional love.

Hi! I'm Oakley, a beautiful 4-month-old kitten with a heart full of love and a bright future ahead of me. My siblings, Betty White, Brewster, and I didn't have the easiest start in life. We were found outside, scared, hungry, and trying to fend for ourselves. Thankfully, we were rescued and brought into a loving foster home, where we learned just how wonderful life can be!

Now I spend my days doing all the things kittens love best! I'm always ready for a game with spring toys, balls, toy mice, or the crinkle tunnel. I also love climbing to the top of the cat tree to watch the birds outside—it’s one of my favorite ways to spend a quiet afternoon.

After a fun play session and a tasty snack, I'm happiest curled up in someone's arms, soaking up cuddles and enjoying gentle ear rubs.

I'm a sweet, affectionate girl who enjoys meeting new people and would do well with gentle, respectful children. I also love other cats and would be thrilled to have a feline friend, especially my siblings Betty White or Brewster. While I've never met a dog, I should do just fine with a patient introduction.

I'm already spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on all my vaccinations. My foster mom tells me I'm a beautiful little girl and that my forever family is out there waiting to find me. I can't wait to meet them—and maybe it's you!

Meet Miss Betty White! At just 4 months old, I'm a sweet, playful little lady with a story to tell. As Betty White would say, "Back in St. Olaf..." my siblings, Brewster and Oakley, and I were found outside, scared, hungry, and trying to survive on our own. Thankfully, we were rescued and brought into a loving foster home, where we quickly discovered that indoor life is the very best!

These days, my favorite activities include chasing spring toys, pouncing on furry mice, and diving into crinkly bags. I love racing around with my siblings, exploring every corner, and making the most of playtime. Once I've worked up an appetite, you'll usually find me enjoying my favorite treat (Temptations and Churu are at the top of my list!).

When the adventures are over, I'm all about snuggles. I love being held, cuddling up with my people, and melting into gentle ear rubs. I'm affectionate, friendly, and always happy to make new friends.

My foster mom says I'm ready to find my forever family. I get along well with everyone I meet and would do wonderfully with gentle, respectful children. I enjoy the company of other cats and would especially love to be adopted with my brother Brewster or my sister Oakley, but I'd also be happy as your one and only as long as I get plenty of love, attention, and playtime. While I've never met a dog, I should do just fine with a patient introduction.

I'm already spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested negative for FIV and FeLV, and up to date on all my vaccinations. If you're looking for a playful companion, a cuddle expert, and a little sweetheart to brighten your home, I can't wait to meet you. My forever family is out there somewhere—maybe it's you!

Patrick is a sweetheart around 4-5 years old with the most endearing little worried face and striking green eyes that will melt your heart. He has a gentle, quiet charm and the cutest soft meow he uses to ask for attention.

Every day, Patrick makes a point to jump up onto “his spot” to greet his foster mom, politely requesting pets and companionship. Once he’s comfortable, he’s happy lounging nearby, where he can relax, keep her company, and soak up the occasional head scratch while she works.

One of Patrick’s favorite pastimes is watching the world go by. Give him a good window perch, and he’ll happily spend hours observing birds, squirrels, and whatever else nature brings his way. He’s very curious about toys and is just beginning to discover how to play, which is a joy to watch as his personality blossoms.

Patrick is a loving and affectionate boy, but he’s also still learning to fully trust indoor life. Like his brother Murray, he spent his early years outside and only transitioned indoors recently. Because of this, he can be a bit timid. Sudden movements may send him back to his safe space, and he prefers to approach people on his own terms. With patience and a calm environment, he continues to grow more confident every day.

Patrick gets along well with other cats and would thrive in a multi-cat home. He's currently sharing a foster room with his brother Murray and his friend Molly, and either one would make a great companion for him if you're looking for a pair (or a trio!). He would do best in a quieter home without small children or dogs, with an adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let him settle in at his own pace.

Patrick is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. He’s ready to find a patient, loving home where he can continue to come out of his shell and truly shine!

Have you been searching for the perfect kitten, but they’re all a little too…precious? Have you wished you could find a kitten that’s more hardcore, more metal? Look no further, Valkyrie is the one you’ve been waiting for! While this four month old kitten does have an admittedly adorable face with those big bat ears, Valkyrie dares you to underestimate her. She fought back from near starvation to become the baddest kitten in the foster room. Her foster mom has affectionately nicknamed her “Menace” for her propensity to rapidly switch from a purring cuddle puddle to a whiskered bear trap of teeth, claws and agony. Valkyrie isn’t malicious or aggressive in the least - but her love language is biting. Metal, right?

Valkyrie is fearless and unafraid of new people or places. She should acclimate quickly to her new territory and clan. She MUST have another young, very playful cat to spar with (she has foster siblings available for adoption if you’re unable to provide a worthy opponent). She was gentle and did well in her limited interactions with an infant, but given that playtime for Valkyrie means TEETH, not sure you want her in a home with young kids. She hasn’t been around dogs and might beat them up if she got bored one day.

She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. Now all she needs is a forever home!

I’m Yaoyao, a 1 year old bold-striped tabby with ears like a little wildcat and a heart that took some time to unlock. At first, I wasn’t so sure about people, but once I gave in to pets—wow! I rolled back and forth trying to catch every hand at once, like I couldn’t believe what I’d been missing. I blossomed into a super affectionate little girl! My sister had Meimei tried to tell me, but I had to discover it myself. Now I’m a loyal, purry little good girl who loves her people deeply.

I’m shy with strangers and don’t like to show off. Your friends probably won’t even know you have a cat until I’ve seen them plenty of times and decided they’re safe. But when I greet you, I do it with my tail raised so high it curls over my back, proud and full of love!

I adore adult cats and would love a calm feline companion. Kittens? I’ll grumble at them, but I never do anything—I just prefer grown-up playmates. My favorite buddy right now is a 9-lb rough-and-tumble guy who wrestles like crazy (Mom keeps telling him to stop trying to eat me, but I think it’s fun). I’ve never met a dog, so no promises there. Kids aren’t my style; I’d do best in an adult home or one with older, gentle children.

My favorite treasures are toys, especially my squirrel furs. I proudly carry them through the house like stolen loot, and no one else gets to touch them until I’m done. Watching me trot around with my prize will keep you smiling every day.

Last year, I developed Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which is a very rare mutation of a common cat virus. I’ve successfully undergone a full round of treatments plus a lengthy period of observation, and I am ready to live a healthy life and start my next chapter in a forever home!

I’m spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on vaccines. I’m ready to join my forever crew—a family who understands that the best companions are the ones worth waiting for.

Sassy Sally is an 11-month-old bundle of joy who, unfortunately, is spending her entire kittenhood in a foster home! She was originally listed for adoption when she was 4 months old but she's gained confidence since then, and her foster mom says she's the sweetest!

Sally absolutely loves life—and playtime is her specialty! This spirited little girl will turn just about anything into a toy, but her all-time favorites are toy mice, laser pointers, and springs. One of her cutest tricks? She’ll push her mice under the door so you can toss them back—and then leap into the air (seriously, up to 2 feet!) to catch them mid-flight. She’s her own built-in entertainment system!

She’s not one to demand attention or climb into your lap on her own—but once you pick her up, she melts into your arms and is perfectly content being held. No squirming, just sweet cuddles.

Sally is a smart cookie who knows her name and enjoys being talked to. While she may be a bit shy at first and can be startled by loud noises, give her a little time and patience, and she’ll reward you with endless laughs from her playful, silly antics.

Sally gets along wonderfully with other cats, especially her friend Clark, and would love to be adopted with one of them. That said, she can also thrive as a solo kitty as long as she gets plenty of love and playtime. With proper, slow introductions, she should adjust well to other feline companions.

Because loud noises can make her nervous, Sally would do best in a home with adults only, or with children who are older, gentle, and respectful. She’s playful at heart and will shine in a calm, loving environment!

Sally has been waiting patiently for her forever home and can’t quite understand why she keeps getting overlooked—because she truly is something special!

She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. If you’re looking for a playful, sweet, and slightly sassy companion, Sally might just be your perfect match!

Meet Danny & Ham, the BEST BOYS!! This friendly, affectionate father-son duo are 4 years old and 2 years old, respectively, and are a delightful bonded pair. Danny is very social and particularly loving, and will even snuggle up next to you or in your lap while you watch TV or read. Ham is the playful one who enjoys batting at toys and trying to catch the bird on the wand toy. These confident easy-going boys make the perfect pair!

The boys were originally found dumped in South Park, with Danny refusing to leave his son’s side. They were adopted into a family who adored them, but one person developed allergies and their younger dog never accepted them, so they were reluctantly returned to find another home.

Danny & Ham are fine with dogs who stay out of their way and with cat-savvy older kids. They would do fine as only cats, or they could live with another gentle, easy-going cat or two who won't bully Danny. Danny, you see, is a very sweet, gentle boy easily bullied by other cats.

They've both recently had dentals and have had teeth pulled, but they eat both dry and wet food with alacrity. (They do love their wet food, though!) Easy peasy! Danny has clogged tear ducts that leave him with watery eyes and occasional irritation and staining, but he requires no additional care other than an occasional wipe.

They are neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, tested for FIV/FeLV, and up-to-date on all of their vaccinations. If you have the right home, apply to adopt this wonderful pair!
