June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month 💭
And for many Black men and boys, the pressure starts early, and never really lets up.
📊 Black boys are often perceived as older than they are, which can lead to harsher discipline and fewer moments of grace in school and community settings.
📊 Black men also face disproportionately high incarceration rates in the U.S., shaped by a mix of systemic barriers, stress, and lack of early support systems.
📊 And behind all of that… is something we don’t talk about enough, holding in emotional stress just to “stay strong.”
But carrying everything silently doesn’t make it go away.
At Ketchmore Kids, we see what happens when young men are given space to pause, reflect, and learn real tools, like conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and communication skills.
Because when you learn how to name what you feel…
you don’t have to carry it the same way.
You start to release it.You start to redirect it.You start to lead differently.
Today, we’re asking something simple:
💜 Take time to tell a black man or boy you see him, you hear him, & you love him.
