3-Global Science Equity Survey
Why this research?
This is a survey about the participation of researchers, especially female researchers, from the whole world in the international academic system. It aims to explore problems in "Global Science Equity" - the equitable representation of researchers from all countries and world regions.
The aim is to provide hard numbers and get direct insights into phenomena that many researchers know about anecdotally, but which may be put aside as individual experiences instead of being recognised as structural inequities. We
hope that collecting these data can help to raise awareness and reach policy-makers in the international academic system, to work towards
improvements.

About WISWB
The World Forum for Women in Science is a regular activity of the Women in Science Without Borders (WISWB) initiative. WISWB was founded in 2017 in Egypt by Prof. Amal Amin as a gender-inclusive, science-based, multidisciplinary global movement under the theme Science for Sustainable Development. The initiative aims to build science-driven societies through equitable partnerships, collaboration, and science diplomacy among scientists and all stakeholders, including policymakers, industry, media, and the public. Today, WISWB spreads over 92 countries and was registered by UNESCO in 2025 as a global gender-inclusive initiative.
