Our Story

The HeBees (aka Helix Beekeepers) is an organisation of trained volunteers promoting beekeeping in the Forth Valley area, enabling anyone to participate in hands on beekeeping, no matter their experience, age or finances. Though their primary focus is on honeybees and beekeeping, they exist to raise the profile of all bees (honeybees, bumblebees and solitary bees) and their habitats. By attending public events, and visiting schools and groups to deliver talk they engage the community, and support them to support all pollinators. ‘Meet the Bees’ days are held at the apiary during summer, which allows everyone and anyone to have a good look inside a hive, spot the queen and taste local honey Leave feeling that little bit wiser and a lot more confident. They offer advice to the public and businesses on bumblebee and solitary bee nests, honeybee swarm removal and rehoming.
