Christian Life Community - CLC in Malta CLC members are lay people who desire to live more closely with Jesus Christ and participate in His mission. The spirituality and charism of CLC are Ignatian.

This page is the official page of the Christian Life Community - CLC in Malta. It is a place where we can share content, prayers and discussion. We also invite you to send us a message if you would like more information about CLC both locally and internationally. The Christian Life Community is an international movement of lay men and women, young and adult, from all types of background, who desir

e to live more closely with Jesus Christ and participate in His mission. In this we follow the Way of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Members gather regularly in small groups to support one another in living a way of life based on Gospel values. They reflect on their lives and on the situations around them, share their experiences and pray together. They help each other to know Christ better, to find what he is asking of them in their lives, individually and as a community. Gradually, their friendship deepens through the mutual support and compassionate understanding that comes from a common desire to give a deeper meaning to their lives. The aim is for them to grow, with time, in their capacity to love, to reach out to others who are in need, to bring justice to the environments they find themselves in, to bring true peace. The small communities are organised into larger communities regionally and nationally, together forming the World Community. At present in Malta there are some two hundred and forty CLC members, mostly young adults, who meet on a regular basis in about twenty different communities, each with its own character and history.

Since a Labour government will hold a referendum on the legalisation of euthanasia, according to its manifesto published on Friday, we are once again sharing this excellent response document drawn up by CLC in Malta professionals in the field. It is well worth a careful read.

This paper has been prepared by members of the Christian Life Community (CLC) in Malta as a response to the Government’s public consultation on the proposed legalisation of Assisted Voluntary Euthanasia (AVE).

'We rejoice with a world that desperately needs this proclamation. Jesus, one of us, has conquered death, his victory is our victory. We can live with the certainty that truth is stronger than lies, love is stronger than hatred and forgiveness is stronger than revenge.' This is the final post in this Lenten series by Paul Pace SJ. We wish you a truly joyful, blessed and peaceful Easter!

'At the end of every Mass, we are sent forth with a clear command: Go in peace! It is a profound irony, for the Eucharist was instituted in the context of a violent plan to eliminate an innocent man who had become too uncomfortable for the powerful. Rather than meeting force with force, Jesus chose to endure that violence for our sake. At the same time, he asked his disciples to celebrate this memorial of God’s loving response to sinful human violence, in the Eucharist.' - Read the rest of today's reflection by Paul Pace SJ here:

The solemn institution of the Eucharist is forever linked to the image of Jesus washing His disciples’ feet—the very feet that would soon run from Him in fear, or pace nervously while denying…

'As we begin this holiest of weeks, I pray for the grace to keep my gaze fixed on Jesus, seeking to enter further into the mystery of his person and his mission. His true strength is revealed in his meekness; he refuses to use violence to defend his innocence, choosing instead to let violence be used against him.'

As we begin this holiest of weeks, I pray for the grace to keep my gaze fixed on Jesus, seeking to enter further into the mystery of his person and his mission. His true strength is revealed in his…

'The phenomenon of indifference renders the suffering of others invisible, creating a dangerous illusion that no action is required of us. I look to Jesus, who not only assures us that whatever we do to others, we do to Him, but who also set an example by giving up what was most dear to Him for the sake of those in need.' - From today's Lenten reflection by Fr Paul Pace SJ

The phenomenon of indifference renders the suffering of others invisible, creating a dangerous illusion that no action is required of us. I look to Jesus, who not only assures us that whatever we d…
