The Winter Court of Houston is a gathering of Fae and their allies that seeks to enhance the presence and participation of the Fae within the greater Houston area while working towards the betterment of themselves and the Greater Houston community. The Seelie courts are known as the Courts of Inner Light, while the Unseelie Courts are known as The Courts of The Inner darkness.This is because magic
k is formed from both the light and the darkness within. Usually being ruled by three Winter Queens: Winter Lady, Winter Queen, & Mother Winter (Maiden, Mother, & Crone), The Winter Court's members usually focus on the philosophy surrounding, contemplation of, and meditation on - life, death, and rebirth. They do not emphasize death over life, as some Fall Fae do; rather, they see both as a means to understanding oneself. Those that normally belong to the Unseelie Court are the "Dark" Fae - such as Nymphs, Satyrs, Succubi/Incubi, Bean Sidhe, & Leanan Sidhe (which are synonymous with psychic vampires, except Leanan Sidhe prefer to follow the pagan community from which they are from). Therians, some Otherkin (such as dark Elvenkin - Dökkálfar/myrkálfar), & even some Dragonkin are also found within the Fae courts at times; usually as guardians or teachers. Unlike the selective, restrictive Seelie Courts, the Unseelie Courts welcome anyone. The Unseelie Courts are a more hospitable place for non-fey as well. Court nobles eagerly provide patronage/sponsorship for allies of the court, potential members, & even Wyldefae who have earned the respect of the court membership. (Yes, The Winter Court of Houston is open to all Otherkin (especially fae & elven-kin), even Wyldefae, Therians, and some Vampires.)
