Dingwall SWI reopened on Tuesday 1st September at 2pm. We welcomed old & new faces alike to our Business/Social meeting at St Clements Church Hall,Dingwall.

Business was conducted & Show Sllyabus's were handed out. A lovely tea followed with lots of lovely eatries provided by the Committee. It was a good chance to catch up with folk and soon the hall was full of chatter.

Our monthly competitions began again with make/take anything to do with the 1940's. What a great selection of entries there was. We asked a guest to come & judge it with 1st Julie Ann MacLeod what a fantastic array of pics of her mother and family then what memories 2nd Charlotte Wojinik with A book which was release papers of her Uncle all history/memories. How great it was to delve into ones family. I loved Brigitte Webb entry which was her birth certificate born in Germany.

It was good to be back amongst like minded ladies "Women Together"!

October meeting is Tuesday 6th October at 2pm where we welcome Highlands & Islands Blood Bikes for a talk. Competition is Anything to do with the 50's.

Looking forward to seeing you all then

Yesterday we had one of our own Catherine Mackenzie a long standing, loyal member of Dingwall SWRI Group.

Catherine has a natural flair with working with both real & artifical flowers that she fitted the bill nicely in giving our members inspiration re the forthcoming Bulb and Baking show with working with artifical.

What a lovely afternoon we had giving us all a wee buzz and drive to do things.

Thank you Catherine for giving us inspiration & as always good for us ladies to be together "women together".

Heres Rebecca Shillan with her cute creation and Deanne Rendall who decided modelling her creation would look better!

On Tuesday 3rd February we welcomed back Kev O neill an artist based in Tain. Lynn O'Neill his wife is a former member of Dingwall and it was,a delight to welcome him back. Kevs work is primarily based on landscapes & seabirds in acrylics but works with other mediums and has taken up paper cut art. Later on in the year he will be exhibiting some of his work in the Alchemist in Dingwall.

He led us with painting brooches & clocks and offered his guidance to each member if and when required. Some beautiful & different work was produced and with hopes that some will put into the show.

Kevs easy going manner and patience is always appreciated and results in such a lovely relaxed couple of hours.

He also was earmarked to be our judge in our monthly competition which this month was to MAKE a felted item. It was a hard task but he did it and the results were 1 Julie Macleod & 2 Edna MacBean.

Haste ye back Kevin another time.
