Scarf

Scarf We’re a social enterprise which has been transforming young lives through hospitality since 2010.

Scarf is a not-for-profit social enterprise (and registered charity) which runs hospitality training, mentoring and paid work experience programs. For close to 15 years we’ve worked closely with the community sector and the hospitality industry to make employment more equitable for young people facing barriers to work. Scarf trainees are keen, resilient young people seeking protection, and those f

rom refugee and migrant backgrounds who have little to no work experience in Australia. Since 2010 we’ve partnered with over 100 awesome Melbourne restaurants to transform over 350 young lives. Scarf Dinners and events are a positive, supportive environment where participants thrive and gain real-world experience. Scarf graduates are part of a unique learning community and move on to jobs with new skills, knowledge, networks and tons of confidence.

We love Scarf partners! 🧡

The legends at Daylesford and Hepburn Mineral Springs Co. do a whole lot to keep our cups full! Not only have they donated countless cases of sparkling mineral water (and delicious flavours) for Scarf Dinners and events since 2010, but they’ve supported with heaps of fundraising efforts over the years too. Absolute legends.

And right now, they are DOUBLING donations to our mid-year campaign, to help Scarf continue creating life-changing opportunities for young people facing barriers to work.

By the end of 2026 we’ll have run FIFTY programs and seen well over 400 young people graduate. But demand keeps growing. Your support this EOFY goes twice as far thanks to DHMSCo, and all donations over $2 are tax-deductible.

We were incredibly lucky to have such a wonderful group of guest chefs supporting our ‘Do More Than Dine’ gala dinner in late April.

Angie Prajogo’s () canapés were simply delightful, and the TINY beetroot circles on her Beetroot, whipped goats curd & fig tart were the talk of the night! She also created two other stunning dishes: Carrot, .cocoa chocolate miso & duck liver parfait and Prawn toast with salted egg yolk & cucumber.

Saavni Krishnan’s (.melbourne) entrée of Ex-dairy goat sukka, thatte idli, coconut chutney was a stand-out, with the only complaints being that everyone wanted more of it!

Jasper Avent’s () main of Spiced lamb shoulder, yogurt, curry leaf & brown butter, with sides of Braised greens, fregola & lemon, and Mixed leaves, buttermilk & chive, were absolutely delicious.

And Charlie Duffy’s (.melbourne ) dessert - Chocolate tart, cultured cream, caramelised sunrise lime - was a total show stopper. Charlie used .cocoa and we honestly don’t have words for just how delicious it was 🍫

The final course came courtesy of our long-time friends and all around legends . We were treated to L’Artisan Cheese Extravagant Triple Cream (Vic), Ford Farm Cave-Aged Cheddar (UK) and Fromager d’Affinois Blue Triple Crème (France). What a finish to a completely decadent night.

And, we’re deeply grateful for the legendary .queen.au who volunteered her time on the night to support the chefs.

DREAM TEAM barely covers it! ❤️
