Thought-provoking indeed! Such a common struggle to broaden opportunities for all in our churches to be involved in answering the cries of the poor in as many different ways as possible
Are we, as believers, all called to serve the poor, or is it a job/calling for one person in each community or a select few?
What would happen if one day, that one person everyone relied on to serve the poor couldn't do it anymore?
Here's an insightful article shared by the founder of The Besom in Cambridge, offering a thoughtful perspective on this situation and raising an important question for us all: how can we build broad ownership of social action work so it doesn't become dependent on just one person?
