Han Chiang High School 2027 Curriculum Talk

On 9 May, Han Chiang High School organised its 2027 Curriculum Talk for Primary 6 students in the Lim Lean Teng hall. Its purpose was to provide parents and students with a deeper understanding of the school’s educational philosophy, academic curriculum, and wide array of co-curricular activities offered. The event commenced at 9.00a.m sharp. Different clubs gave the audience a brief introduction of their clubs, which included Makers Club, Robotic Club and so on.
During the opening ceremony, 24 festival drums gave a powerful performance, aiming to preserve Chinese culture and allow more people to get a better understanding of this activity. The crowd erupted in cheers and applause as the performance ended, making the atmosphere lively. A talk about the English Centre followed, with the aim of improving and nurturing students’ linguistic skills and confidence in communication.
Furthermore, the principal, Madam Kung Bee Lee, gave a speech welcoming all the parents and students that attended. She emphasized that the school's core philosophy is "Holistic Education for Quality Talents," implemented through its S.M.A.R.T. Quality Education framework to nurture self-disciplined, academically competent, resilient, and team-oriented individuals. The school offers both the UEC and Cambridge IGCSE programs, with all students required to complete a STEAM curriculum, a crucial skill in today’s world. Madam Kung went on to describe the school’s environment, such as smart air-conditioned classrooms, a digital library, Han Chiang English Centre, advanced science and robotics labs, a new "Tan Kok Ping Education Hub" building with canteen, co-curricular activity rooms and an open performance hall, plus sports facilities including an indoor stadium, basketball courts, and pickleball courts, as well as a hostel for international students.
Vernice Lum, the future president of the school's English Debate Club, presented an introduction to the club, clarifying that debate is centered on independent thinking, confident speaking, and respectful listening rather than competitive arguing. She stated that the club has participated in various competitions such as the World Scholar's Cup, Asian Parliamentary Debate, and Model United Nations. The club's primary competition, World Scholars Cup, consists of four events: team debate, writing, Scholar's Bowl, and Scholar's Challenge. At the 2024 Bangkok Global Round, Han Chiang excelled in both senior and junior categories, winning the prestigious Jac Khor Award in both divisions; at the 2025 KL Global Round, contested against over 2,400 scholars from more than 30 countries and placed 3rd and 6th overall as teams and claimed the Top 1 and Top 2 individual rankings. Beyond WSC, the club has achieved runner-up at the HELP Asian Parliamentary competition and regularly hosts friendly inter-school debates with schools such as Stonyhurst and Prince of Wales, under the guidance of teachers Ms. Peggy Lim and Ms. Xin Kit.
Moreover, the school’s head of sport department —- Jin Zhi Peng, introduced the different sport curriculums available as well as the general curriculums available. One of the many was the badminton club, which trains students to have quick reflexes and promotes a healthy lifestyle. The school also promoted its Makers Club, which focuses on coding, programming and developing self-discipline skills. He stated that the club has joined multiple competitions and brought glory to the school, praising the club for their hardwork. To conclude the event, teachers gave students and parents the opportunity to tour around the school and explore the different facilities, helping them familiarise themselves with the school’s environment. The event ended at 12.00p.m sharp and everyone headed home.

为了让今年的小六生们以及家长们能够更深入地了解关于本校的课程以及入学考试报名等咨询,本校于2026年5月9日(星期六)上午9时至中午12时在本校林连登堂举行了2027年课程说明会。
于上午9时的开幕仪式上,本校二十四节令鼓学会为在场的观众们献上了一场气势磅礴的表演,旨在传承中华文化,让更多人了解二十四节令鼓。在这精彩纷呈的表演结束后,现场爆发出热烈的欢呼声和掌声,礼堂气氛非常热烈。随后,进行的活动包括了一场关于英文中心的讲座,旨在提升和培养学生的英语能力及沟通自信。
在这之后,本校校长江佩家硕士发表了致辞。在致辞的开端,江校长先是欢迎了所有到场的家长以及学生。接着,江校长强调了学校的核心理念:“素质教育培养素质人才”,并通过其优质教育框架来培养自律、学业精进、坚韧不拔且具有团队精神的个人。在本次活动的致辞当中,江校长也提到了本校同时提供 UEC统考以及Cambridge IGCSE 课程,所有学生都必须完成 STEAM 课程,这是当今世界的一项关键技能。江校长接着介绍了学校的环境,如图书馆、英文中心、实验室、一栋配有食堂、课外活动室和新建的建筑 “乐学楼”,以及包括室内体育馆、篮球场和匹克球场在内的体育设施,还有为寄宿学生提供的宿舍。
在江校长致辞完毕之后,本校英文辩论社的候任主席 林玟萱同学也为大家介绍了该社团,阐明辩论的核心是独立思考、自信发言和尊重倾听,而非好胜的争论。她表示,该社团已参加过各种比赛,如 World Scholar's Cup、Asian Parliamentary Debate 和 Model United Nations。该社团的主打赛事 World Scholars Cup 包含了四项活动,其中包括了团队辩论、写作、Scholar's Bowl 以及 Scholar's Challenge。林同学透露,在2024年曼谷全球国际赛当中,本校在高级组和初级组中均表现出色,荣获了享有盛誉的 Jac Khor Award,且同时也在2025年吉隆坡全球国际赛当中与来自30多个国家的2400多名学者同台竞技,团队总排名获得第3和第6,个人排名包揽第1和第2。林同学坦言,除了 WSC 之外,该社团还在 Peggy Lim 女士和 Xin Kit 老师的指导下,在 HELP Asian Parliamentary 比赛中获得亚军,并定期与 Stonyhurst、Prince of Wales 等学校举办校际友谊辩论赛。
除此之外,本校体育处金紫鹏主任也为观众们介绍了可选的各类体育课程以及常规课程。其中众多课程之一便是羽毛球社团,该社团训练学生快速反应并帮助他们养成健康的生活方式。接着,在致辞当中,金主任也提到了本校的创发学会专注于编码、编程和培养自律能力。他表示,该社团已参加了多项比赛并为学校赢得了荣誉,赞扬了该社团的努力。
在活动的最后环节老师们带领家长及学生们参观了校园,并且探索了本校不同的设施,以熟悉学校环境,并于上午12时,本次活动正式圆满落幕。
