Since the youth sector is one of our community's most neglected sector, Empower PH Initiative focuses on youth empowerment as a way to ignite change in each local community. In accordance with Presidential Proclamation No. 261, May 31 is recognized as National Fisherfolks Day in honor of the Filipino fishermen's commitment to safeguarding our marine and coastal resources.
The Empower PH Initiative honors and commends all Filipino fishermen for their tireless efforts to deliver the freshest seafood possible from our oceans to our country. We support the Filipino fisherfolks as the rightful custodians and beneficiaries of our oceans, especially in light of the current tensions in the West Philippine Sea.
