Heidi's Promise Our goal is to bring awareness and prevention to those impacted by drugs and alcohol.

Our organization is committed to sharing personal stories of how drugs and alcohol affected our own family. Our daughter Heidi was killed in a DUI related car crash in 2004 and we share her story in order to bring a sense of realism to these issues, but also to show just how many people are affected by these tragedies.

This Saturday, the 18th, will be the anniversary of the very first assembly I had the chance to shared Heidi's story at Kent Meridan High School. For 21 years, we've had the opportunity to share her life and her message to thousands of individuals all across the country. We have been so blessed to see how God has opened up so many doors and expanded our mission and I've been lucky enough to be able to be part of that. Today we celebrate Heidi's birthday. She would have been 42 and I'm sure a great mom and wife. We continue to miss her, but God has been good and made a positive impact out of tragedy. We continue to try and make a difference, and I thank you for all the love and support you have given us over the years. Happy birthday Heidi! We all love you and miss you.

Forty-one years ago today, Heidi was born. I don't think anyone would have imagined what her life and her death would mean to so many people. Upon her death, twenty years ago, we began a mission to bring awareness and education on the issues of drug and alcohol abuse, and it continues to this day. From that first assembly at Kent-Meridian High School to now being involved with student education, Victims Panel presentations, authoring children's books, and employing 7 wonderful people to work in the schools with those students impacted by substance use. It is an incredible privilege and honor to do so. It is through God's help and the support and prayers of so many that we can continue these efforts. Heidi's life is a good reminder of how quickly our lives can be changed and I encourage you to use those God-given gifts to help make this world a little bit better. God bless you all.

Yesterday we celebrated Heidi's 40 birthday with our annual trip to Dairy Queen! A tradition we carried on even after her passing. She's been gone 20 years now and we've been sharing her life and her story for going on 19 years. Her life and her story have had a huge impact on so many people over the years and I am proud to be able to continue her legacy. The doors God has opened up for us has been a blessing for me personally but also the individuals we have served over the years. We are now reaching another generation of young people with her story and the impacts of poor decisions. Thanks for all the support we have had from you and the communities we serve. God bless, Heidi's Dad.

Hello Everyone, I don’t generally post very many things but I’m excited to announce a fund-raising campaign for our non-profit organization Heidi's Promise > Home (heidispromise.org) Our mission is to bring education and awareness of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse in our communities.

A few years ago I wrote 5 early-reader books called the ‘Miss Heidi Book Series’ and we’re offering them as a gift for a donation to our organization. These rhyming stories are written to give a sense of the love between a parent and a child and reflects my appreciation for the time God gave me with my daughter Heidi. My goal is for these books to be read in honor of her life and share the joy she gave during her time with us.

For more information on our organization please go to our website and check us out. Thanks in advance for your help and generosity. God bless. Eric (Miss Heidi’s Dad)

38 years ago today, a beautiful little girl was born. Her name was Heidi. 18 years ago, she went back to heaven. I remember both days like it was yesterday. Heidi was 19 years old when she died. It was Good Friday that year. We were to have her 20th birthday on Easter. As I sit here this morning, I also remember the good times and the challenging times as we both grew up. We all can look back on our lives and wish things were different, but what I've learned is we can all make a difference in someone's life. Heidi was here on earth a short time and her influence was shortened by some very poor choices. But as short as it was, she still made a difference. Her life and her story continue to influence so many people and decisions and motivates me to continue to bring hope and a message of reconciliation to our own decisions. We have that opportunity and I pray each one of us understands how precious life is. Today, on Heidi's birthday, I encourage you to use your God-given gifts to make a positive difference and to make sure the ones you love - know it. Use your life, your story, and your gifts to bless this world. I truly believe Heidi would want that.

God Bless. Happy birthday Heidi!! Love, Dad
