Alachua County Ancient Records Volunteers

Hello fellow transcribers! I just wanted to see if y'all are still out there!

Last month I found out from our Historical Records Coordinator Karen McColl that our mighty band of volunteer transcribers has transcribed 44,674 pages since the beginning of the project many years ago! That's 44,674 pages of Alachua County's Historical Records now every-word searchable!! As of August 27th, we still had 3 active transcribers. There're still thousands more pages ready for transcription so, when you have time, maybe transcribe a page or two.

Also, the Clerk of the Court's office is now calling the "Ancient Records" the "Historical Records." You'll note this change on the main page https://www.alachuaclerk.org/archive/default.cfm and every scanned page of the historical records.

Happy New Year everyone! Our volunteer transcribers are still going. Look at these numbers! The number of transcriptions done for 2024 are: 1175, and our total transcriptions to date read: 43,477

Great work Volunteers! Keep up the good work in 2025. Someone out there is always discovering the Alachua County Ancient Records and grateful for the transcriptions you do. Thank you!!

Our Transcription totals are currently showing: 42,400, with 104 Transcriptions completed for the Month of January 2024! Many thanks to our volunteer transcribers for moving this forward. We are one of the few counties to have so many Ancient Records on-line - and one of the even fewer counties that have so many transcribed! Keep up the good work!

They enjoy transcribing SO very much, and do such a WONDERFUL job too!!!!! So far for this Month, we have transcribed 100 pages. WE GIVE YOU VOLUNTEERS ALL OF THE CREDIT FOR MAKING THIS HAPPEN!!!!
