What do we mean when we say “trauma-informed care”? In a recent article, we explored the landscape of mental health in foster care, including research that helps us better understand what children are carrying. An awareness of these numbers matters, but what they teach us about caring for vulnerable children matters even more. This week, we celebrated our 4th Annual Care Community Leader Gathering with 36 leaders representing 24 churches and organizations! 🎉

In Mark 6:30–31, Jesus invites His disciples to come away and rest after faithful ministry. Rest, and even celebration, are woven into the life of discipleship and spiritual formation. We celebrated our leaders and invited them into a time of renewal, laying down the burdens that often come with ministry.

The most important thing we bring to our work is our relationship with Jesus. And the greatest gift leaders can offer those they serve is not simply effective ministry, but a life increasingly transformed into the likeness of Christ.

We were also grateful to hear from Jeremy Marshall, Director of the WinShape College Program; David Jauregui, Assistant Director; and Jessica Deagle, R&R Program Lead of WinShape Marriage. Each encouraged and challenged our leaders to embrace greater rest and renewal in Jesus.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to our incredible speakers for inspiring and equipping our leaders for the next season of growth and impact. ❤️

Sometimes the licensing process can feel overwhelming. But don’t worry—we have a few experts, so you don’t have to be. Behind every “yes” is someone who helped make the path a little clearer.

Rachel gets to walk alongside families in that in-between space—helping bring clarity to the process while making room for the stories, hopes, and questions that come with it. We’re grateful for the way she helps families move forward with greater confidence, one step at a time.
