A Diné (Navajo) man was the first to open my eyes to Native American worldviews. When I shared with him my belief that water was like the blood of the earth, he replied "My mother always told me the Earth was alive!" Those words have resonated with me ever since. Such wisdom is precious. So why treat the protectors of this ancient knowledge with disrespect, denying them the water they need to survive!
