Christians for Education evolved from the existing College Ministry known as the North Wales College Project and a proposed initiative called ‘CYFF’ which is an abbreviation for ‘Christ is the Way’ in Welsh (Crist Ywr Fford). The main idea behind CYFF was to establish Christian Union groups in High Schools to run alongside existing groups in the Colleges. This stemmed from the need to create a spr
ing-board for young people leaving High Schools to the daunting world of College Life. Establishing Christian Unions in High Schools would strengthen the faith of the young people, encourage a stronger Christian witness in the Schools, enhance preparation for the potential challenges and joys of being within a Christian Community in College and provide a transitional link from school to college. After recognising the need to establish High School Christian Unions alongside College ones, the need for a more Holistic Approach was identified. The Holistic Approach was instigated by three recently retired Senior teachers in the North Wales area who joined forces with individuals already involved with the North Wales College Project to conjure up innovative and Holistic ways of taking the vision forward. This fusion led to the formation of Christians for Education (C4E). This coalition decided the initiative will cover the Rhos-on-Sea to Prestatyn area of North Wales. Christians for Education exists to support Schools and Colleges through the Local Christian Community. C4E will focus on the Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural Well-Being of Schools and Colleges from the Rhos-on-Sea to the Prestatyn area. The Holistic Approach will feature services such as School Assemblies, the establishment of Christian Unions, Lessons, Workshops, Church visits and support for tutors, families and individual children.
