The Carbon County Art League will be hosting a Maker's Market & Amphitheater Open Mic at Lehighton Amphitheatre & Upper / Lower Park every second Saturday from May through October 11AM-4PM. This is for human-made / AI-free art and products. There will be an open mic in the amphitheater, a free art supplies give-and-take station, vendors, food, lawn games, and classes/activities.

It’s only $25 for a 10’ x 10’ vending space or $10 for a 5’ x 5’. There are also reserved spaces that are free for members of the Carbon County Art League (learn more at www.carboncountyart.com). Showing proof of membership to another art league will knock $5 off your vending fee. Nonprofits vend for free. Our intention is to reinvest these vending fees into hiring local artists, musicians, and performers for community events and projects.

This is a curated event, which means we will be considerate about offering a variety of quality items. We are serious about the requirement that your art or products be 100% human made, and made by you. The purpose of this market is to help support makers. We do not accept AI-generated artworks be they standalone prints or featured on products. This is also not an appropriate venue for network marketing products. Whether it is art, dolls, soap, plants, wooden shelves, cupcakes, jewelry, or whatever else - if you made it, it is welcome.

VOLUNTEERING: If you would like to host a class or volunteer to help with set up/takedown, assisting vendors, etc. please e-mail [email protected]

Happy new year Carbon County Art League! Well, the new year is off to the races already for us all! Not only have we already had two events earlier this month, but right now we are gearing up for our next list of events! Please join us this coming Monday, January 19 at 6 PM at Robbie‘s balloons and more store located at 114 S. 1st St. in Lehighton. We will be having our second improv class led by our instructor Bob. We will be serving pizza and drinks. No experience necessary, this is a beginner group for those who are members or non-members were looking to join.

Also on the schedule for that same week Wednesday, January 21 will be our general meeting for the art league. 6 PM at Wine and More. 135 S. 1st St. in Lehighton light snacks and drinks will be served and we are asking members to bring a “Show and Tell” item of any kind that is related to art to share with the group.
Our meetings will be every other month, so if you can’t make this one, we will see you in March!

One last important event for the art league is happening the first Mondays of every month! The art league is proud to partner with HUG IN A MUG to present THE THIRD PLACE MEDICINE SHOW from 5 to 8 PM at Hofford Mills in Weissport. This is an open mic night with lots of entertainment and an opportunity for anyone who would like to perform to get up on our stage!

For any questions you may have about any of these three upcoming events, please contact Robbie at 570-242-9080

Hope to see you at one of the CARBON COUNTY ART LEAGUE, upcoming events!

Don't miss tomorrow's CCAL November Meeting & Open Discussion RE: Censorship & A.I. - these topics have a huge impact on art in general. Take Raanjhanaa for example: the studio re-released this tragic love story, but used AI to change the ending entirely.

What does this mean for the future of film? Will I finally have the option to see Andie choose Duckie instead of Blane? But more importantly, should I?

In 2013, Raanjhanaa captured hearts with a tragic ending. But in 2025, the re-released version has a twist—an AI-altered happy ending. No reshoots, no consen...
