This month, our club had its annual lonely bouquet night. Everyone bought spring flowers and foliage that was all put on long trestle tables. Then Everyone moved about while chatting to put together appropriately 70 small bouquets into jars with a nice which were then left all round our area the next day for strangers to find. In August, our club had an in-house demonstration from 2 of our members (Sharon and Megan). They were asked to do some designs inspired by our National Floral Conference in Wellington.
It was good to share this with Sharon, who is quite experienced as it was my 1st club demo. Good fun and a challenge.

Floral Art is art incorporating parts of the natural world and in line with Floral Arts mission statements around protecting and honouring the natural world and the plant material it provides -
North Canterbury's recent club night looked at designs using sustainable options instead of Floral foam.
There was moss, muelonbeckia, pine needles, chicken wire, dried tree roots, branches and more used by members which was great to see. Below are most of the designs from the night.

Floral Art North Canterbury club took Southlands "Boxed Beauties" idea and did our own version for our May club night. Tutored by Heather Sibley.
Since Canterbury Area had to fold, the club's made a commitment to regulatly facilitate shared experiences with all our regions club's. So to this end, this was a combined club night with members from all our clubs welcome to join us.
Such variety in everyone's Boxed Beauties.
