So after a hiatus of two years due to physical aging infirmaries facing our members, The Cleanup CREW is back cleaning the environment of trash. Today’s litter is really trash of all sorts-discarded tires, siding, signs, doors, car parts, cardboard, liquor bottles galore and, of course, fast food rappers and lots of plastic. A plethora of cigarette butts are a given. Our current focus in B & A Blvd. approaching Ritchie Hwy. near Cattail Creek.
Look at just one section of B & A’s collection and the improvement thereafter.

Despite the high winds today we picked up trash at the corner of Ritchie & B/A Blvd. approaching Cattail Creek- one leaf bag and 25 bottles.
Next week work continues on that same side approaching Berrywood.

12/04/2024

The Crew will work on B/A & Richie Hwy. near the Berrywood Community. Please help us clean up on 4/13.

31/03/2024

The Cleanup CREW restarts this Sat., 4/6 9:30-11:30. Park at Rey’s Crabs on B&A and Ritchie Hwy. We will focus on B&A on both sides of the road near Ritchie.

So instead of visiting one of his favorite places, the library or the playground, this 3 1/2 year old requested picking up trash. So trash picking we did. Where? In southern Maryland. Trash is found throughout our beautiful state.

The Cleanup CREW has taken a temporary winter break, but when Leelyn, Asbury or B & A in eastern Severna Park get badly trashed, I still pick up because being outside among the trees and brush brings me such contentment. I reflect on my father’s gift to me-respect and love for nature-for which I am SO grateful.

Leelyn bottle/can collection 1 week later.
