The international community in 1989 adopted the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child based on what every child needs to survive, grow, participate and fulfil their potentials. These rights include the right to education that applies to every child equally, regardless of where they come from, or who they are. It is our conviction at The Olive-Child Foundation that the right to education will en

sure that every child can participate and fulfil their potentials. However, UNICEF estimates over 61 million children are denied the right to education globally and in Nigeria about 4.7 million children of primary school age are still not in school. The Olive-Child Foundation believes this is the case mainly as a result of poverty and other factors. We, therefore, work to promote the right to education for children.
