Sometimes confidence starts with simply feeling safe enough to try.

Dogs have a way of meeting us exactly where we are. No judgment. No pressure. No expectation to have it all figured out.

At The BOLO Project, we use the dog-human bond to create a safe place for teens to practice the things that can feel much harder with people: building trust, communicating clearly, trying something new, recovering when something doesn’t go as planned, and learning to believe in themselves.

Those small moments of connection become practice for something much bigger: confidence, resilience and an unstoppable mindset.

That’s what your support helps make possible.

What did you need when you were 15?

Someone to believe in you. The confidence to keep going even when you were unsure. A community that reminded you that you didn’t have to figure it all out alone.

Those are the things we’re working to give today’s teens through The BOLO Project.

For the next 15 days, we’re raising $15,000 to help more teens build confidence, resilience, life skills, and a vision for their future. And from October 1–15, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar by the Larry and Helen Hoag Foundation. 💛

What a truly TRANSFORMATIVE weekend kicking off The BOLO Project Summer 2026 program!

These amazing teens showed up with courage and curiosity. We could not be more excited for the weeks ahead and everything this group is about to discover about themselves.

A huge thank you to our incredible facilitators, entertainers, volunteers, and returning BOLO participants who came back to support, lead, and encourage this year’s students. Your presence made this weekend extremely special.

This is only the beginning, and we are so grateful to be part of their journey.

Summer slide isn’t just about academics.

For many teens, summer can quietly become months of isolation, too much screen time, lost confidence, lack of motivation, and disconnection from real friendships, purpose, and growth.

The teen years are some of the most important years for identity, resilience, confidence, and emotional development. What teens experience during these months matters.

At The BOLO Project, we create experiences that help teens step outside their comfort zones, build real confidence, connect with peers, work alongside dogs, and develop leadership and life skills that carry far beyond summer.

This isn’t about keeping teens busy.It’s about helping them grow into who they’re capable of becoming.
