We continuously strive to enhance and enrich the lives of youth and adults through community based programs and projects.

The inception of Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc, an international, professional and humanitarian organization of over 3,000 dedicated and concerned women, represents a cadre of talents, skills and resources. TLOD was the result of the inspiration of Ozell Dean, (one of our Founders) then a major in the United States Air Force Nurses Corps, while a guest at a luncheon given by Mrs. Lyndon Baines Johnson shortly after she and President Johnson moved into the White House in Washington, D.C. In attendance at the luncheon meeting were women from all over the world who had achieved distinction in the areas of finance, business, culture, the arts, humanites, education and community service. This cross section of human resources as represented by knowledge, interest and abilities, portrayed a potpourri of special talents and skills, which would be tapped for the purpose of improving society on all levels of the life cycle in all lands. The organization was founded on June 4, 1964 in Tyler, Texas. Since its founding the objectives of the organization have been expanded to include not only a focus on the youth group, but all as stated above.

Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. Will County Black Diamond Chapter was chartered on September 26, 2015. ORCHIDS to Lady Drema Lee Woldman, Past National President; Lady Mary L. Davis, Past Area III Director; and Lady Karen Dilligard, our Chapter Organizer, for bringing your vision of service and sisterhood to fruition through us.

Today, we celebrate and reflect on 11 years of Serving Youth and Adults, bringing an unparalleled impact to Service, Sisterhood, and Support in the Will County and Chicagoland Area.

We are grateful for your support and partnership and we are ALL IN as our chapter continues to give exemplary service by supporting youth and the communities where we live, worship and work.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. 🩵

The impacts of cancer extend beyond the individual diagnosed, affecting entire families who must navigate the challenges together. Open communication about health history and education about the disease can empower families to make informed decisions, seek appropriate medical advice, and find support through community resources and support groups.

Know the risks.
Approximately 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime. But each man's risk of prostate cancer can vary, based on his age, race/etnicity, and other factors.

Learn the signs.
Early prostate cancer usually causes no symptoms. Most prostate cancers are found through screening, before it has a chance to cause noticeable problems.

Get screened.
Get screened with a PSA blood test. Guidelines recommend men should begin screening between the ages of 50 and 55. For African-Americans, individuals with high risk, or those with a history of prostate cancer in your family, the recommendation is to get checked earlier. Check with your primary care provider.

Take charge of your health.
In addition to screening, healthy habits can protect your overall health. Diet and lifestyle modifications have been show to reduce the risk of prostate cancer development and progression, and can help men with prostate cancer live longer and better lives.

Early detection saves lives.
