The alliance is based on the European AAD model, recognised as world's best practice. The Perth Hills Wellbeing Alliance (PHWA) is a grass roots alliance formed by local community members who are passionate about promoting positive mental health. PHWA is fully supported by the WA Primary Health Alliance and based on the European Alliance Against Depression framework. This community driven model is
based on the world’s best practise for the care of people with depression and in the prevention of su***de. PHWA was formed by Kalamunda community members whose passion lies in connecting our community as a way of reducing isolation and mental health problems. Darren will co-ordinate the alliance in collaboration with existing services and individuals who are passionate about supporting our community. Darren is a Mental Health First Aid Trainer with lived experience of depression and su***de loss. Darren is also a facilitator with Take Charge Wellbeing – Workplace Workshops for Mental Health, Wellbeing & Mindfulness. Our goal is to have a community that knows what support is available for anyone experiencing depression and/or suicidal behaviour and has easy seamless access to this support. The support is continually improving and the community and services work together to provide this support. PHWA Activities
