Parent challenge: Do you remember the Pledge of Allegiance? Try saying it today with your kids!
Happy Pledge of Allegiance Day! In 1942, Congressional legislation recognized the words of the Pledge of Allegiance. Pledge of Allegiance Day takes place Dec. 28, on the anniversary of the day in 1945 when an amendment was made to the 1942 legislation, “to give official congressional sanction to the pledge.” The Pledge was written by Francis Bellamy. President Benjamin Harrison proclaimed Oct. 12, “Let the national flag float over every schoolhouse in the country and the exercises be such as shall impress upon our youth the patriotic duties of American citizenship.”

One of our most cherished traditions at LFCS is our Veteran’s Day celebration. Each student plants a flag in honor of a Veteran.
Today, Students will be singing patriotic songs, cheering for our Veterans, and learning about the men and women who have served to protect our freedoms.
