🗣️ We need your voice! HB2338 is moving forward to strengthen the Hawaiʻi Promise Scholarship — a program that covers the gap between other financial aid students receive and the amount they still need to pay for community college.

HB2338 would amend the statute so that students who are awarded Hawaiʻi Promise scholarships but later receive more scholarships do not have Promise funding taken away. This amendment supports the success of Hawaiʻi’s students by lowering the financial barriers that stop so many from pursuing higher education.

✅ From now on, StudentAid.gov accounts created with a Social Security number will be immediately verified! This means students will no longer have to wait 1-3 days for their accounts to be verified. Remember, creating a StudentAid.gov account is the FIRST STEP to filling out the FAFSA.

There's no need to worry if your account was created without a Social Security number. You'll go through the normal verification process; just be sure to leave yourself enough time.
