It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you of a difficult decision our team has had to make. After changes within our team structure and careful consideration of our resources, The Health Impact will be ceasing its operations indefinitely. This decision has not been made lightly, and we are heartbroken to say goodbye.

We would like to express our profound appreciation for every one of you for your support throughout our journey. To all our donors, staff, partners, followers, and volunteers, your kindness and generosity have made an immeasurable difference to our team and to the thousands of refugee families we served together. We will always be grateful for the positive change you have helped us achieve.

We encourage each of you to continue to work for the rights and dignity of the most vulnerable. Now more than ever your voice of solidarity and change is invaluable. Thank you for being a part of the Health Impact family. We will forever cherish the memories and work we've shared with you.

Con gran pesar debemos informaros de una difícil decisión que nuestro equipo ha tenido que tomar. Tras realizar cambios en la estructura de nuestro equipo y considerar detenidamente nuestros recursos, operaciones indefinidamente. Esta decisión no se ha tomado a la ligera, y nos duele decir adiós.

Nos gustaría expresar nuestro profundo agradecimiento por vuestro apoyo a lo largo de nuestra trayectoria. A todos nuestros donantes, personal, socios, seguidores y voluntarios, vuestra amabilidad y generosidad han marcado una diferencia inconmensurable para nuestro equipo y para las miles de familias de refugiados a las que hemos servido juntos. Siempre estaremos agradecidos por el cambio que nos habéis ayudado a conseguir.

Os animamos a todos a seguir trabajando por los derechos y la dignidad de los más vulnerables. Ahora más que nunca, vuestra voz, solidaridad y cambio tienen un valor incalculable. Two years ago this week the Health Impact team first start to take shape as the project launched in Lebanon! Pablo, one of our founders, began hiring staff and our first international volunteers joined us in Lebanon to help us begin our work.

We have changed and grown a lot since then and it has been nearly 3.5 years of learning and working. We are so thankful for all of our staff and volunteers and everyone who has donated and supported us! Here’s to another year!

Esta semana hace dos años que el equipo de Health Impact empezó a tomar forma con el lanzamiento del proyecto en el Líbano. Pablo, uno de nuestros fundadores, empezó a contratar personal y nuestros primeros voluntarios internacionales se unieron a nosotros en el Líbano para ayudarnos a empezar nuestro trabajo.

Hemos cambiado y crecido mucho desde entonces y han sido casi 3 años y medio de aprendizaje y trabajo. Estamos muy agradecidos a todo nuestro personal y voluntarios y a todos los que nos han apoyado. ¡Por un año más!

Pads for all! A special shipment of more than 4,500 reusable menstrual pads from has arrived at our center. These pads were each made by hand by Pachamama volunteers and will be distributed to more than 600 as part of our Women’s Health Initiative.

A huge thank you as always to our amazing friends at for their logistic expertise as the pads arrived all the way from the UK on their latest aid container!

¡Compresas para todas! Ha llegado a nuestro centro un envío especial de más de 4.500 compresas menstruales reutilizables de Pachamama. Estas compresas han sido fabricadas a mano por voluntarios de Pachamama y se distribuirán a más de 600 mujeres como parte de nuestra Iniciativa "Salud de la Mujer".

Un enorme agradecimiento, como siempre, a nuestros increíbles amigos de por su experiencia logística, ya que las compresas llegaron desde el Reino Unido en su último contenedor de ayuda.

A busy registration day! Nearly 200 additional families were registered to attend health education sessions at our center. All local families are welcome to our center, both refugees and members of the Lebanese host community. This door to door system of registration ensures that we don’t miss anyone and can make accommodations for anyone that has special needs.

¡Un día de registro muy ajetreado! Casi 200 familias más se inscribieron para asistir a las sesiones de educación sanitaria en nuestro centro. Todas las familias locales son bienvenidas a nuestro centro, tanto refugiadas como miembros de la comunidad libanesa de acogida. Este sistema de inscripción puerta a puerta garantiza que no se nos escape nadie y que podamos atender a quienes tengan necesidades especiales.

Thanks to the always generous we have restocked our supply of menstrual pads for the coming months! Thanks to their support we are also able to start giving a pack of disposable pads out during our women’s health class along with the reusable cloth pads from .

This fantastic combo gives women and girls a great choice in how they manage their periods and gives a disposable option as women learn about and adapt to cloth pads.

People living in informal tented settlements in Lebanon have no officially established access to housing, food, water, sanitation, health, education, or other essential services. They are often at the mercy of landowners or other local leaders that get to decide if they may stay or how much they pay for rent.

This is where the majority of our students have lived for more than a decade, and where many have raised their children. With frequent flooding and garbage piling up it can be hard to maintain hygienic living conditions, but families here work hard to make the best that they can for themselves, and we are here to support that effort.

Las personas que viven en asentamientos informales de tiendas de campaña en Líbano no tienen acceso establecido oficialmente a vivienda, alimentos, agua, saneamiento, sanidad, educación u otros servicios esenciales. A menudo están a merced de los terratenientes u otros dirigentes locales que deciden si pueden quedarse o cuánto pagan de alquiler por su chabola.

Aquí es donde la mayoría de nuestros estudiantes han vivido durante más de una década, y donde muchos han criado a sus hijos. Con las frecuentes inundaciones y la basura amontonada, puede ser difícil mantener unas condiciones de vida higiénicas, pero las familias de aquí se esfuerzan por hacerlo lo mejor que pueden, y nosotros estamos aquí para apoyar ese esfuerzo.

Thanks to a local organization, Sebnay, we are distributing food in our center to the families who come to our workshops! Every day our team collects containers full of food and then give them to six families. The meal includes rice, meat or chicken, and salad, and the quantity varies depending on the size of the family.

We will be distributing these meals throughout Ramadan and more than 150 meals will be distributed in total. In this way we can support in a small way, the most vulnerable families and their Ramadan celebrations.

Gracias a una organización local, Sebnay, ¡distribuimos alimentos en nuestro centro a las familias que acuden a nuestros talleres! Cada día, nuestro equipo recoge tuppers llenos de comida y los reparte entre seis familias. La comida incluye arroz, carne o pollo y ensalada, y la cantidad varía en función del tamaño de la familia.

Distribuiremos estas comidas durante todo el Ramadán y en total se repartirán más de 150 comidas. De este modo podemos apoyar, en una pequeña medida, a las familias más vulnerables y sus celebraciones del Ramadán.

Preparing for Ramadan 2023! Ramadan begins tomorrow so our team has been busy preparing our classes and distributions to best support families during the month of Ramadan.

We will be running shorter classes, allowing people that are fasting to have a break and rest in the afternoon. We will also be distributing dates, a traditional food used to break fast each evening, along with our regular distributions of hygiene and health supplies.

¡Preparándonos para el Ramadán 2023! El Ramadán comienza mañana, por lo que nuestro equipo ha estado ocupado preparando nuestras clases y distribuciones para apoyar mejor a las familias durante el mes del Ramadán.

Daremos clases más cortas, permitiendo que las personas que están ayunando tengan un descanso y descansen por la tarde. También distribuiremos dátiles, un alimento tradicional utilizado para romper el ayuno cada noche, junto con nuestras distribuciones regulares de artículos de higiene y salud.
