"Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna to the Son of David!" (Matthew 21:9)

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and commemorates Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The liturgy of Palm Sunday is like a formal entrance into Holy Week . It combines two contrasting moments: the welcome of Jesus in Jerusalem and the drama of the Passion; the festive "Hosanna" and the repeated cry: "Crucify him!" Palms are blessed on Palm Sunday, reminding the faithful of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem. These palms are often kept in homes as a witness to faith in Jesus Christ, the messianic king, and his Paschal Victory. However, the palms should not be regarded as lucky charms or used for superstitious.

The Association of Virac Seminarians (AViS), together with the Pre-College and Minor Seminarians from the Immaculate Conception Seminary, held their Pre-Fielding activity yesterday, April 11, 2025, at the Cave Chapel, Immaculate Conception Seminary, Fiat Compound, Cavinitan, Virac. The activity was facilitated by Seminarian Erickson B. Guerrero.

This activity forms part of their spiritual and pastoral preparation for their upcoming Holy Week Apostolate, during which they will be sent out to various parishes and mission churches across the Diocese of Virac.

The Pre-Fielding was followed by a Send-Off Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Raymund Fajardo, the Vocation Director.

Let us include our brother seminarians in our prayers as they embark on their mission, that their service during Holy Week 2025 may bear abundant fruit for the glory of God. 🙏
