Built from 12 months of consultation with multicultural communities across the state, A Victoria for All of Us sets out practical actions to tackle racism and hate, strengthen multicultural organisations, improve access to services and build belonging.

At a time when some loud voices in public debate seek to divide communities and question who belongs, ECCV outlines a positive vision: a Victoria where diversity is recognised as one of our greatest strengths.

Voice of the Outer South East (VOSE) proudly hosted its first-ever Digital Mentor Training and Community Needs Forum as part of our 2025 end-of-year community activity, bringing people together to support vibrant and connected living across Cardinia, Casey, and Greater Dandenong!

📣 The event took place at Foundation House, Dandenong, on Friday, 28 November 2025.
✅ Volunteers, and community leaders and members joined us for an afternoon of learning and collaboration.

The Digital Mentor Training equipped attendees with practical skills and awarded a Certificate of Completion, empowering them to help others navigate the digital world.

🤝 Delivered in partnership with Australian-Filipino Community Services and Foundation House, with training supported by Good Things Australia.

💬 The Community Needs Forum facilitated meaningful conversations around the need for service information, access, and navigation, highlighting opportunities to strengthen support for our diverse communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to making this first training and forum a success!

Celebrating 45 years of the The Boite !

In 1973, Pakenham Shire was split from Berwick Shire.

In 1974 the Pakenham Shire council, led by Deputy Shire Secretary, Ray Canobie, decided to hold a festival in the Pakenham Shire to celebrate art and culture of the growing community.

In 1975, a festival committee was established, with the first order of business to hold a competition to name the festival and design an emblem to represent it. The festival was dubbed Yakkerboo, a word derived from indigenous language meaning place of greener pastures.

The Mr Yakkerboo emblem was designed by a local school teacher. The design is based on a bunyip, with the tail as a question mark as everyone wonders what Mr Yakkerboo is. The Mr Yakkerboo logo was first used in advertisements for the inaugural 1976 Yakkerboo festival.

The festival will be held on the 20th and 21st April at the Pakenham Library ovals.

A free session on Online Scams and Strong Passwords will be held on 11th April (from 6pm) at the Clayton Community Centre.

It'll be a great opportunity for any international students, migrants or refugees within the south-east regions to strengthen their understanding of scams and how to protect themselves from it. Catering will be provided for the evening for attendees.
