On June 2, 2026, a group of Czech Nebraskans, including Czech Honorary Consul of Nebraska Mila Šašková-Pierce, were honored to join Governor Jim Pillen for the signing of the official proclamation recognizing Nebraska Czech Heritage Week.
This proclamation celebrates the generations of Czech Nebraskans whose hard work, traditions, and community spirit have helped shape our state's history and culture.
Nebraska is home to one of the strongest Czech-American communities in the United States, and Czech Heritage Week is an opportunity to honor that legacy while inspiring future generations to preserve and celebrate their heritage.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this recognition possible and who continues to keep Czech culture thriving across Nebraska.
