SICAS and Santa Shoe Box working together to alleviate Period Poverty

On Thursday 8 September 2022 SICAS had the pleasure to hand out our Menstrual Match packs at Leap Maths and Science school in Langa. 130 girls received a pack which consists of two panties, 5 reusable pads and an educational booklet. The girls had a discussion on menstrual health and the financial relief that reusable sanitary pads will give. It was also emphasised that the reusable pad will be so much better for our environment than single use menstrual pads. Our thanks go out to Lungiswa Gwaai from Leap and Ms Debbie Zelezniak and Ms Nikki Lopes from Santa Shoe Box that had done the behind the scenes work to make this happen.
