This morning I did something I don’t normally do…
I scrolled the news.
And it was everywhere, Trump being praised for his “noble peace” moves, apparently flying to Israel for the arrival of 24 hostages.
As I read, part of me felt relief, maybe, finally, a moment of easing for the agony being felt in Palestine.
But then I hit one paragraph and thought… WHAT. THE. FISH.
Why did they feel the need to add “according to Gaza’s health authorities”?
Like, really? You can report one side as fact and the other as a disclaimer?
Of course, what do I expect from the New York Times, but what frightens me more is how easily this kind of language slips past readers who don’t question it. Who think October 7th just “happened,” and that Israel somehow has the right to justify the murder of over 67,000 lives.
I’m turning off comments for this one.
Not because I don’t want to talk, but because I’m not here to argue about facts.
