Beauty in Brokenness
"The best advice a r**e victim can have is from the r**e survivor themselves. " This is Beauty in Brokenness. An online platform that helps, supports, encourages and empowers r**e victims to obtain healing and attain the full purpose of life after the tragedy.
The support and care from family and friends is a necessity, but it is also vital to get professional help to rebuild the victim’s mental health. If mental health will not be being taken care of properly, it will be very difficult for a victim to continue fighting for justice, will be impossible to move on, and healing is not attainable. It is also important to have a community that supports and understands the victims to encourage them to live their lives again, to be able to attain purpose and, as hard as it is, to still be grateful of the current life they have despite the tragedy forced upon them.
Not everybody will understand the same way how the victims feel, they cannot completely perceive what the victims are feeling inside. The ones that could really help are the ones that have experienced the same crime and situation; the ones who have undergone the same pain; the one who was once a victim; the ones who have overcome self-denial and emotional damage; the ones who once lost their pride and couldn’t even help themselves. The best advice is from the r**e survivor themselves.
The first step of the healing process is openness. Having good communication thru this online community and organization will help these victims be open again. The r**e survivors together with the professionals will enable the victims to be heard without holding back, without fear, without being shamed, without judgments. Openness will then build their inner strength, an essential component for the battle of regaining pride and purpose of living. Part of the process is the presence of denials and other struggles, but one must be able to let things out, stand tall, and gain pride again.
