Several members of Metairie Woman's Club visited Hilda Knoff School for the Hearing Impaired and treated the students to a Christmas party. The members helped the little ones with a Christmas craft project, served snacks and refreshments, and presented each child with an individually selected gift provided by LeJouet Toys.

Our December meeting was quite festive and very befitting of the season.

Enjoying Christmas Carols is always a favorite of our membership. Our leaders included Accompanist Tom Browne of Lakeview Presbyterian with Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Choir Members/Club Members Jan Allen, Charlotte Matthew & Pattie Stanley.

The December Luncheon Hostess Team served a lovely meal. Thank you, ladies. (left to right) Barbara Bordelon, Lizzy Wang, Julie Mazzetti, Linda Deichmann (Lead), Bethany Gonski, Carol Staiano, and Toni Gambino

The group also played Jingle Mingle Bingo. It was great fun! The laughter in the room told Santa how much fun we were having. Pictured in action - Joy Babin (seated) and left to right New Member Darlene Mura, Past President Polly Thomas, Meetings Chair Darlene Cavalier & Janet Turner. Thank you to the Jingle Mingle Bingo Contest Leader Jessica Seale, and to the winners Janet Schwary, Regina Martin & Joan Albright, and Leader Lizzy Wang.

Finally, we welcomed new member Sue Burke with Jane King.

Wishing all of our members, supporters and friends a lovely holiday season.

Carl Arrendondo Inspires Gratitude at Metairie Woman’s Club

The November Program featured Carl Arrendondo, who shared his inspirational personal journey. Although best known as a former weathercaster, a progressive eye disease caused a midlife shift to being as a certified trainer for those facing blindness and a certified CrossFit trainer for persons with disabilities. Carl shared his gratitude for these new opportunities and inspired the Club Members to be thankful for their own blessings.
