This Memorial Day, members of Troop 2 were proud to participate in the meaningful tradition of replacing flags on the graves of our veterans.

Each flag serves as a small but powerful reminder that freedom comes at a cost and that the sacrifices of those who served are never forgotten.

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor these heroes, reflect on their service, and help preserve this important tradition for future generations.

Exciting news for Troop 2 & our community! 🎉

Troop 2 is now a Scouting America Family Troop! Chartered by St. John’s in Vernon, we proudly welcome families from Tolland and all surrounding towns.

What does this mean? It means brothers and sisters can now participate in the same troop. It also means Cub Scout dens can stay together as they transition to Scouting America - learning, growing, and adventuring side by side. Over the past year, we’ve heard from many families that splitting siblings into separate troops just isn’t ideal. We’ve also seen Cub Scout dens forced to divide when crossing over. This change keeps families together and strengthens the Scouting experience for everyone.

While Tolland currently has three troops (one girl-only and two boy-only), Troop 2 is excited to offer a family-centered option that brings Scouts together.

We can’t wait to welcome new and returning families to this next chapter of Scouting!

Planning summer activities for your Scout?
If you’re looking for that quintessential summer camp experience — campfires, independence, friendships, and time outdoors — Troop 2 builds toward it all year long.

We camp one weekend every month, giving Scouts the skills and confidence that make summer camp unforgettable.

📅 Spring adventures include:
• March: Camp Yawgoog preview campout
• April: Herkimer Diamond Mines
• May: Cape Cod

And every summer, Troop 2 heads to Camp Yawgoog in Rhode Island for a full week of classic Scout summer camp.
📍 This year: June 28 – July 4

🗓️ Weekly meetings: Tuesdays at 7:00 PM at Tolland Middle School

Troop 2 successfully concluded its annual Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops course this past Saturday. This comprehensive training program provided our scouts with fundamental leadership principles. Participants actively engaged in interactive sessions, cultivating teamwork and enhancing communication proficiencies. We commend the dedication and commitment demonstrated by all attending scouts. This experience will undoubtedly prove beneficial as they progress through their scouting endeavors.

Our Troop 2 scouts braved the cold this weekend and spent time enjoying shooting sports and completing merit badge requirements for Chess Merit Badge during our annual Games campout at Ed Strang Scout Reservation in Goshen, CT. 8 scouts took part in rifle marksmanship and 13 scouts competed in a chess tournament after learning the history and skills required to play Chess.
