Yesterday, our Neighbourhood Summer Health Check kicked off at Gorton Hub (M18 8HE), with one idea running throughout the day: looking after your health starts here.

Attendees accessed checks for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and HIV status, alongside stalls covering healthy eating, cancer awareness, women's health and immigration, all in one welcoming space.

Rumbi and Margaret from Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust praised the organisation and the variety of stalls. Suleman from Our Manchester got more engagements than at other events. Laura Omonze Urhobo MBA from Cancer Care Diaspora UK came away with quality connections.

To every health professional, stallholder, volunteer and attendee, thank you. Thanks too to Manchester City Council for supporting the event. We're looking after our community's health together.

๐Ÿฉธ BLOOD MATTERS: FROM DONOR TO PATIENT

For many in our community living with sickle cell, cancer or other serious conditions, a blood transfusion isn't optional, it's life-saving. Yet closely matched donors are in short supply, and that gap hits Caribbean and African patients hardest. Donating is one of the most powerful things you can do for someone you may never meet.
