❤️ Arox, Paltsa, Thomas and Copy (pronounced Coopey) doing what they love. Arox and Paltsa are both champion race dogs and have competed several times in the Iditarod, I think these guys breakfasted on rocket fuel and I had to spend a lot of time on the brake holding them back.

Challenge complete. Feeling proud of ourselves. Many kilometres covered on the back of a lightweight sled that requires careful balancing and is pulled by 4 incredibly strong, desperate to run, dogs. We've slept out in minus 25 with nothing between the snow and us but a thin rubber mat, a reindeer skin and a sleeping bag, wakening to frost on the outside of our sleeping bags and frozen faces. We've used buckets for a loo, surprising how quickly you become ok with that, cooked porridge over a smoky fire in a yurt with a snow floor and fallen in love with our amazing dogs and the breathtakingly beautiful place that is Swedish Lapland. We've seen stunning aurora and stayed in cabins at the wonderful Ice Hotel in Jukkasjarvi. Memories and friends made that will last a lifetime. Now waiting for our flight back to Stockholm but already wondering what the next adventure will be.

Tomorrow we are London bound then we take an early flight on Friday to Swedish Lapland where by all accounts the weather is currently seriously cold with blizzards forecast for next week. So, today was an opportunity for a quick "totals" photo call with Jenna from the Highland Hospice before we head off. Thank you to all our superstar supporters, we are pretty proud of this total

WE.....HAVE....DONE....IT!!!!!

Almost speechless with delight and anyone that knows me will know how rare an event that would be!🤣

There are still 2 collecting tubs to be counted and added so we have completely smashed what we initially thought was a daunting target.

We will leave for our mammoth Arctic trek in 18 days chuffed to bits with our achievement (p s. currently -18 in northern Sweden 🥶🥶🤣)

We cannot thank you all enough for your support you are absolutely superstars!

In 24 days we fly to London and the following day we take 2 flights, one to Stockholm and then a further flight to Kiruna 200 km north of the Arctic Circle, where we will begin one of the most challenging weeks of our lives. Camping in temperatures that may be as low as -30 and trekking 270km, each with our own sled and team of huskies, it's going to be tough but the experience of a lifetime.

It's 16 months since we set out on this adventure and at that stage we thought the Highland Hospice target of £7,800 was daunting. We are delighted to tell everyone that as of today our total is £16,720.30.

While we realise that times are tough for everyone, if anyone out there would still like to sponsor us in aid of this amazing charity we would be so grateful. If we could hit the full £17k we would be over the moon. Our Just Giving link is below.

WOW! Thank you all so much. Our Christmas Tombola sold out in record time. You have all been amazing, give yourselves a huge round of applause, without your support we couldn't have raised more than double what we set out to raise for the wonderful Highland Hospice. We still have buckets and tubs to pull in and count but that's our main fundraising efforts done for now. Keep one eye peeled for photos from the arctic adventure of a lifetime that this has all been leading up to around the end of March.

Folks thank you for your tombola purchases so far. Still lots to be won. Closing it down for tonight and will start a new post for tomorrow as it gets a bit cluttered and hard to keep track of messages.

CHRISTMAS TOMBOLA!!

We have 80 numbered envelopes, choose your number or numbers and message us, we will send you a pm video of your numbered envelope being opened to reveal what you may have won.

Prizes include bottles of wine (one a 3 litre size!), packs of beer, bottles of gin, lunch and dinner vouchers, shopping vouchers and more. The biggie in there is a short break on Orkney that includes a 2 night stay, dinner for two, a wildlife boat safari and a Sheila Fleet jewellery voucher.
