We want what you have

These were the words that hit me so deeply from the local community and changed my life forever! Everything flashed before my eyes the reel of my life! It was literally as if I was watching myself fast forwarding a movie of everything I had experienced! Pain, suffering, anger, happiness, gratitude! All the lessons I had encountered, I mean every bit of my life had made sense up to this point! What first started off as Purpose Driven Yogi has now become Future Healers and I haven't looked back!

As I was in Fiji getting dive certified I was hanging out with the Fijians making food together, sleeping at my Fijian mama bears home with her kids in a one room house. We made meals together, talked story and explored together. This family opened my eyes, eyes that I thought were already so open, yet still had not seen nor understood what it actually takes for them to survive! Although they had nothing they were still loving and happy. Being so poor its all they know and they had to put systems into place that are just normal for them. What I was able to help them with blew my mind. All I could think was damn this cost me only $100 to get her kids what they needed for school! I see how many tourists come into their country to vacation in those two weeks that could sponsor one family or even village. I had a grasp on how these tourists could completely change their lives forever. But they do not. They do not even understand whats going on or how to help. Most people just stick to their resorts and do not venture out to see the true places they are visiting.

I went to drop off school supplies and then taught yoga at the local school there. After this session I was surrounded by the community and they were in aww. They said to me,” SOYELA...! WE WANT WHAT YOU HAVE WE ARE SICK OF HAVING BABIES! I understood that they wanted more for their lives other than their soul purpose to be mothers, fathers and workers.

In that moment I had realised that the Western World has the option to so many different well-being practices. The western world even with all its issues as well with poverty, drug abuse and more it can not be comparable to developing countries because they just dont even have the luxury of having a choice. There are not options if they are living on the streets or food banks for them to head into. Maybe there is the one non profit somewhere but its still not the same as the Western World. Then I thought why cant communities in developing countries have these options as well. Why cant well-being be normalised and available to all? Then I thought well in order for a community to be fully self sustaining in their mental and physical well-being why don’t I teach them these tools so they can empower their own people with well-being rather that waiting or depending on foreigners help. So I decided that I would dedicate my life to helping normalise mental and physical well-being practices that seem to alternative to others that could really benefit to it as I have. The catch is I will train them to be their own instructors and I will pay them to take care of their people. The reason I will pay them is because from my experience in teaching in helping others is, if I am not taken care of and have to worry where my next meal is I can not fully dedicate myself to helping others. I believe we need to take the stress response away so we can be clear on our intentions and bring it to life!
